Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Bergisch Gladbach

The drive from Brussels Airport to Bergisch Gladbach

The route covers 229 km (143 miles) and typically takes 2 h 37 m. It leads east across the Belgian border and on towards the Cologne area, so the final stretch often passes through denser traffic around the city. Allow extra time during weekday rush hours, on Friday afternoons and in bad weather. Bergisch Gladbach is a less frequently booked destination, but the transfer is available on request like any other.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage.

Choosing the right vehicle

For one to four passengers, a private taxi is the natural choice. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, so a family with extra luggage, a business delegation or a tour group can all travel together in a single vehicle. Pick a size with some room to spare if you carry bulky bags or sports equipment, since a journey of well over two hours is more pleasant with space to stretch out.

About Bergisch Gladbach

Bergisch Gladbach is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, just east of Cologne, in the hilly Bergisches Land region. Its district of Bensberg is known for its baroque palace. The city has a long history of paper making and is mostly green and residential, which makes a quieter base than central Cologne.

Where to stay

The best-known address in Bergisch Gladbach is the Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg, a castle hotel in the Bensberg district. For a wider choice, Cologne is the nearest large city and is home to the long-established Excelsior Hotel Ernst, close to the cathedral. Cologne is a short onward drive from Bergisch Gladbach.
