Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Bennekom

The drive from Brussels Airport to Bennekom

Bennekom lies 198 km (124 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes 2 h 10 m. The route leads north across the Belgian border and through the Netherlands towards Gelderland. Traffic around Brussels, Antwerp and the Dutch motorway network can slow things down at rush hour, so allow some extra time if you have a fixed appointment or a train to catch. This route is booked less often than the big city transfers, but it is available on request like any other.

Choosing the right vehicle

For one to three passengers, a private taxi is the simplest option, and a four-passenger taxi gives a little more room for luggage. Larger parties can choose a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This suits families with many bags, conference delegates, sports teams or university groups heading to the Wageningen and Ede area. Pick the size by passenger count and by how much luggage you bring.

Bennekom and where to stay nearby

Bennekom is a village in the province of Gelderland, part of the municipality of Ede. It sits right next to Wageningen, a town known for its university, and close to the wooded edge of the Veluwe. It is a quiet, green place, popular with walkers and cyclists. I cannot name established hotels in Bennekom itself with confidence, so here are two well-known ones in neighbouring Wageningen, only a few minutes away:

• Hotel de Wereld, a historic hotel in the centre of Wageningen
• Fletcher Hotel De Wageningsche Berg, a hotel in a wooded setting on the edge of Wageningen
