Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Baaigem

The drive from Brussels Airport to Baaigem

The route covers 63 km (39 miles) and typically takes about 49 minutes. Baaigem lies in East Flanders, so the journey leads west from Zaventem across the Brussels ring and on into the Flemish countryside. Allow extra time during weekday rush hours, when traffic around Brussels slows down, and in poor weather. Baaigem is not a frequently booked destination, but the transfer is available on request like any other route.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The location is easy to find once you have collected your luggage. From there you walk to the vehicle together.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a private taxi is the simplest choice: one version seats 1 to 3 passengers, another up to 4. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8 or 16 seats. For bigger groups such as wedding parties, sports teams or company outings, minibuses with 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats are available. Pick the size according to both passengers and luggage, as suitcases take up space too.

About Baaigem

Baaigem is a small village in the municipality of Gavere in East Flanders. It is a quiet, rural place, so a door-to-door transfer is often the most practical way to arrive, particularly after a flight. Give your driver the full street address when booking so the vehicle can go directly to your destination.

Where to stay near Baaigem

Baaigem itself is a village, and I cannot name established hotels there with confidence. The nearest larger city with well-known accommodation is Ghent. Long-established options there include:

• Marriott Ghent Hotel, on the Korenlei along the Leie river
• Hotel Gravensteen, a historic townhouse hotel in the city centre
• Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Reylof, a boutique hotel in a historic building
