Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to As

The drive from BRU to As

The route covers 94 km (59 miles) and typically takes about 59 minutes. As lies in the Belgian province of Limburg, so the journey leads east from the airport area through Flemish motorway country. Traffic around Brussels and Leuven can slow things down at weekday rush hours, so add a buffer if you have a tight appointment or a connection at the other end. Outside peak times the drive is usually smooth.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a private taxi is the simple choice, with options for up to 3 or up to 4 passengers. Groups of up to 8 fit in the 8-seat minibus, which gives luggage a little more room. Larger parties such as work teams, wedding guests or sports clubs can use minibuses with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, so everyone arrives together in one vehicle. When booking, count the suitcases as well as the passengers.

As as a destination

As is a small municipality in Limburg, close to Genk. It is a quiet, residential place rather than a tourist centre, so most visitors come to see family, to attend local events or for business in the wider Genk area. A direct private transfer saves you from planning connections to a smaller place like this after a flight.

Planning your drop-off in As

Have the full street address in As ready when you book, because small municipalities often have similar street names. If you are staying at a private home, it helps to keep a phone number handy so the driver can reach you on arrival. Allow a little extra time on the day if you have a fixed appointment after landing.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House at Brussels Zaventem Airport with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage.
