The first stretch leads you away from the airport onto the motorway network around Brussels. This is where delays are most likely: weekday morning and late afternoon traffic on the ring road can add time, as can heavy rain or roadworks. If you have a fixed appointment or a connecting booking at the other end, build in a comfortable margin on top of the usual driving time.

Choosing the right vehicle

For one to three passengers, a private taxi is the simplest option, and a four-passenger taxi gives a little more room for a small family or for extra bags. Groups of up to eight can travel in the 8-seat minibus, which suits families with several suitcases or colleagues travelling together.

Larger parties are covered as well, with minibuses of 16, 24, 32, 40 and 48 seats. For weddings, family gatherings or company trips, it is usually easier to bring everyone in one vehicle than to coordinate several cars. When booking, count luggage as well as people, since a full group with large suitcases may need the next size up.
