Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Ambeve

The drive from Brussels Airport to Ambeve

The route covers 231 km (144 miles) and typically takes 2 h 21 m. Ambeve is a less frequently booked destination, but transfers are available on request like any other. The journey heads east out of the Brussels area and finishes on smaller roads in the hilly countryside of eastern Belgium. Allow extra time if you land during the morning or evening rush hour around Brussels, or in winter, when rain, fog or snow can slow the last stretch. Because the trip is a long one, a private transfer saves you from planning connections with luggage.

Choosing the right vehicle

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. The 1-4 option leaves more space for suitcases. Larger groups can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This suits wedding parties, family gatherings, sports teams and company groups travelling together. Choose the size according to both passenger numbers and luggage, and if you are close to a limit, go one size up.

About Ambeve

Ambeve (Amblève in French) is a small village in the German-speaking east of Belgium, in the municipality of Amel. The surroundings are quiet, green and hilly, a very different setting from the airport and the capital. It is a place for walking, cycling and a slower pace rather than sightseeing. Since there is little to find on arrival, it helps to have the exact address of your accommodation ready for the driver.

Meeting point at Brussels Airport

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage, so you can go straight there once you are through baggage reclaim.
