The two flight companies will ask only for a negative COVID test

Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa: no need to prove the vaccination before the flight

Nov 26, 2020 | Travel guide

lufthansa and brussels airlines do not require vaccination

As we get closer to the COVID-19 vaccine, the aviation industry is also working on the best solutions to set up a system adapted to the new situation. Now many of the flight companies require a proof of negative COVID test before entering on board. In the future this method could change for the proof of vaccination as soon as it is available to the public. Based on The International Air Transport Association's (IATA) announcement, an app will also help the airports and flights companies to make traveling safe again. This app will allow the travellers to prove quickly their negative tests or the status of their vaccination and as an extra, The Travel Pass will link to an electronic copy of the holder’s passport, too.

Despite the news from many sources from the sector, it seems not everyone will be so strict with the vaccination rules: neither Brussels Airlines nor Lufthansa intended to ask passengers for proof of vaccination in the future. They will choose another solution. As the Brussels Times reported, Brussels Airport is currently working on a rapid detection test before the flight: on the first test flight all of the passengers were tested and only the ones with negative results were allowed to start their journey. Later this could be mandatory as long as long as it is necessary but further details were not given from the two flight companies.

As soon as the countries open the borders again people will start to travel. The feeling of security is a priority for everyone during these days and the flight companies are responsible to reinforce it. The COVID vaccines could change a lot for a better future but until then everyone in the sector works hard to set up high standards. From the airports to the airport transfer companies everyone tries to survive and provide a service with high hygiene standards. After and before the landing the best way to travel is a private transfer. Compared to the public transport it is much safer: it takes you from your hotel to the airport without any stops. The drivers are wearing a mask and tested for COVID. The cars are cleaned and regularly disinfected after each journey and only you and your company will travel in the same car. The more private travel is the safest and Brusselsexpress offers you a luxury and COVID free experience for a low cost both to and from Brussels and Charleroi Airport.
